About the program

  • GMAT waivers available: If you choose to submit test scores, you may be eligible to receive a GMAT waiver.
  • AACSB-accredited program: The Whitman School is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the most recognized business program accreditor.
  • Two master’s degrees for fewer credits: Once enrolled, you can apply for one of three additional online programs (up to one year after graduating): an MBA or an M.S. in Business Analytics or in Entrepreneurship. 

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University established the nation’s first supply chain management program in 1919. This legacy continues today with the online Master’s in Supply Chain Management program. Learners across the country can now master and apply industry-standard tools and technologies to help their organizations improve efficiencies.

Tuition and fees are subject to change and may increase each academic year. Tuition does not include student fees, technology platform licensing, or support services. Learners are also responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to any in-person immersions or residentials.

Curriculum

The 30-credit online curriculum explores topics such as risk management, financial management, and the creation of innovative and digital supply chain strategies. By learning from expert faculty, collaborating with peers on group projects, and applying new skills directly to your current role, you will graduate prepared to use supply chain design and analysis to make meaningful distribution and manufacturing decisions for any organization. Core courses include:

  • Operations and Supply Chain Management: Survey the terminology, concepts, problems, and tools that support decision-making across the four major supply chain processes.
  • Business Analytics: Gain hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Master analytical tools including Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, and R Programming.
  • Managerial Finance: Learn the three main principles that guide corporate managers in maximizing firm value: the investment principle, the financing principle, and the dividend principle.
  • Supply Chain and Logistic Management: Study the influence of supply chain management and logistics on corporate strategy and profitability.
  • Principles of Management Science: Gain an understanding of modeling for managerial decision making. Learn about the formulations, solutions, interpretations and limitations of network models, queuing models, and more.

Admissions

The Whitman School seeks applicants who are eager to create more efficient supply chains and improve their organization’s product life cycle. The Supply Chain Management programs offer start dates four times per year, typically in January, April, July, and October. GMAT or GRE scores are not required for admission. However, applicants may submit scores if they believe it will strengthen their application.

To complete an application, you will need to submit:

  • Two letters of recommendation


Lean Six Sigma Capstone

The program capstone introduces learners to the Six Sigma process-improvement approach. Learners will focus on how businesses can better provide quality, reliability, and value to customers by mastering techniques from the define, measure, analyze, improve, and control (DMAIC) approach. 

The program capstone is also registered as a certified training provider for the Council of Six Sigma Certification. Learners will gain the necessary skills required to become eligible for a Green Belt certification from the American Society of Quality.
