The new urban science course focuses on technology and cities ( TECH+CITY ). It is not only the new " urban science " , that is, the use of new data, new methods and new technologies to study classic cities at the methodological level, but also the science of " new cities " , that is, understanding A study of new cities affected by disruptive technologies . This online course is divided into four modules: overview, technology, application and prospect, with a total of 13 lessons to systematically introduce the latest research progress in new urban science.

With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, a series of emerging technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, augmented reality, etc., have provided new opportunities for studying cities and expanded the breadth and depth of their research. In addition, these disruptive technologies have also had a huge impact on urban space and daily life, causing substantial changes in the urban research objects themselves. Against this background, new urban science emerged, which also gave traditional urban science new vitality.

This course invited Professor Wang Jingyuan of Beihang University, Professor Meng Tianguang of the Department of Political Science of Tsinghua University, City Quadrant CEO Mao Mingrui, Jihai GeoHey platform director Cui Fudong, Huawei Wang Peng professor-level engineer, Meituan Research Institute researcher Dr. Li Jiwei and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Zhou Yu Ms. participated in the recording, aiming to expand the knowledge horizons and cutting-edge trends of new urban science from multiple fields and disciplines in the academic industry.

With the advent of the Fourth industrial revolution, a series of emerging technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IOT), augmented reality (AR), provide new opportunities for studying cities and expanding their research breadth and depth. In addition, these disruptive technologies cast profound impacts on urban space and social life, and substantially change the research object of urban research. Under such background, the New City Science rises in response to the proper time and condition, and would revitalize the traditional urban sciences.

Many guest lecturers are invited to record this course, such as Prof. Wang Jingyuan from Beihang University, Prof. Meng Tianguang from Tsinghua University, Mao Mingrui, CEO of Urban Quadrant (URBAN XYZ), Cui Fudong, Director of GeoHey, Prof. Wang Peng from Huawei and so on. It aims to expand the knowledge horizon and frontier dynamics for everyone from multiple fields and multiple disciplines.
